Special Recomendations

Tour Agua Negra Pass
Amidst the untouched wildness of the Andes lays the Paso Agua Negra (Agua Negra Pass), a frontier pass parting Chile and our neighbour Argentina. This unique encounter will certainly impress you with its spectacular views.

Enjoy the "Laguna", a lake situated at incredible 3.300 m and the colourful rock formation "La Colorada" deep in the mountain range. The frontier pass is one of the most beautiful spots in Chile and South America. An incomparable experience!

Important: As the excursion to the Agua Negra Pass will take you up to more than 4.700 m, we recommend a two day trip. This will give you the chance to get used to the altitude and avoid potential side effects.

Quartz mine
A mine from the 19th century in Tilama, 44 kms from Pichidangui. These days the mine is closed, only used as a water reservoir. From this mine they extracted cryptcrystaline and macrocrystaline quartz.

Hurtado Valley
Traces of the native population of Chile can be found in the valley “Rio Hurtado”. Only a couple kilometers in the West of the Elqui Valley you can visit one of the best preserved ceremonial sites of the indigenous culture of Chile. More than 40 rock paintings reveal the interesting culture of the Diaguitas. The uncountable long country roads through the green valley invite especially horse lovers to explore the countryside.
An exciting discovery of unique history and stunning nature!
